MAX

Max is Maxine to her accountant and nobody else. She lives in Texas with her husband, her kids, and her anxiety, all of whom she loves very much. She does not curse because she can get her point across without it. She sees a therapist weekly. The therapist is Jane. While Max shares all the details with her therapist, she also shares them in the group chat. They wonder why she pays for therapy sometimes.

Here is the thing about Max: she is completely self-aware. She knows when she is spiraling. She can see herself spiraling from outside the spiral. This does not stop the spiral. She can turn a simple text into a full emotional disaster simulation with backup scenarios, worst-case subtitles, and a recovery plan already in place. That is just who she is. 

Max met the other 4 core girls, Lindsy, Eva, Dottie, and Josie, in college many years ago. It was in a random elective course. Even though they are all so different, they just clicked and have kept in touch religiously ever since college. The group chats are what keep her calm when she’s about to go bonkers.
